My favorite NC-style BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 Quart Cider Vinegar
- 1 Quart water
- 1.5 to 2 Quarts Ketchup
- 3.5 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 Tablespoon cayenne (or to taste)
- 2 Tablespoons black pepper
- 3.5 tablespoons salt
Combine the ingredients in a saucepan, simmer for 15 minutes, then bring to a boil and remove from heat. Let cool.
Finally got around to making this tonight for some country ribs. Oh so good. I think it will be making the trip to the desert with some smoked pulled pork.
Nice! I’m a huge fan — my favorite NC BBQ that I’ve made. I also made a more traditional NC BBQ the other day with no ketchup, but with brown sugar so it cut the vinegar nicely. Will have to get that up here soon.
